From industrial Logistics to Logistics-Digitality

Why and how digitality changes our daily life and logistic needs.

Digitization has effectively found its way into our everyday lives and will continue to have a significant impact on our business life in the future. Both city living and country living will undergo significant changes and with it logistics requirements. Not only are we are going to see new technologies for us all to use, but there will also be endless new structures in our society.

Cities are evolving away from industrial "car cities", to digital ones with quality of life of their inhabitants being turned upside down. New opportunities for work and the desire for a more flexible division of daily routines round out the package. Other topics such as the metaverse (and what is that actually?), artificial intelligence and blockchain are buzzing through the public and across media channels. Are these just pipe dreams or are there concrete applications of these new technologies?

Going Glocal

There is no doubt that digitization will change everyone's everyday life:

  • We will move less, have more home and co-working offices
  • Cities will become 5-15 minute cities, they will become greener and more livable
  • Downtowns, on the other hand, are disappearing or changing
  • Retail is coming back in entirely new forms and in places we never thought possible before
  • And online retail will undergo the same changes as well

And there are new possibilities for production opening up. Due to smaller, more flexible machines, goods can increasingly be produced locally or regionally. New technologies and also currencies such as the digital euro can make traceability possible. Does it sound like the distant future? Not at all, as you will find out at our Dematic Hybrid Customer Day on February 28th with futurologist Max Thinius.
